The Indian Harp, the Swar mandal or Surmandal is an accompanying instrument to Hindustani Classical singers. It is generally used as a drone, the singer strums the strings in a downwards direction at regular intervals. The swar mandal is tuned primarily to the tonic and dominant keys (Sa and Pa) of the raag you wish to sing. Our swar mandals are constructed from rosewood and have 33 strings, each equipped with a fine tuning bead. A great addition to your music collection!
